"Teenagers" By My Chemical Romance English 4/27

My primary source is the music video of "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance.  It is a song about the relationship between the teenage sector of society and adults.

So far, my primary sources include: an analysis of the music video by a Christian center for parent/youth understanding, a blog post that analyzes the video, and an interview with the lead singer of the band.

I plan to use these resources in various ways.  The Christian review is the most intriguing to me because it is a completely different viewpoint than the other two sources.  It is also new to me since I am not a Christian.  It makes an attempt to relate most of the videos content to aspects of the Bible and to God,  This could be very useful, especially since the Bible is a book full of meaning.  Any apparent Biblical messages in the video would be very interesting to analyze.

  1. Well, I would suggest that it might be better not only focusing on the Christian review, you can also make some comarison to standpoints from other field to avoid bias. Anyway comparison is always a good way of analyzing and arguing things more thought-provoking.

  2. This sounds like a very interesting project topic, as I'm a fan of the band myself. The Christian aspect sounds very interesting, because I don't think the band is "Christian" in the slightest. So, I would stick with that as a good source, if you choose to side with that view.

  3. It sounds like you have a pretty good topic to write about and that you have some good sources to use as evidence. I agree with Jerry, in that you should try to find something that maybe has a different view on christian music so you can use the other evidence that you found as an argument against some of the other claims. This will create a thoughtful and provoking argument and research paper.
